Question answered in Quora - How do I career move in supply chain from singapore to Canada?

Here is how I would do it

1 - Create a great linkedin profile & get as many recommendations as possible from the people that you have worked with. Get good recommendations from the people that you have worked with, that vouch for your work, the quality of the work, because when you work with someone partnering shoulder to shoulder and accomplish some thing, that creates a great bond, that is why soldiers that went to war together will be the best buddies ever for the rest of their lives.

2 - Create a great resume, clearly articulate the results you have produced by show casing metrics, metrics is very important

3 - Then create a great cover letter show casing your passion for the position and start applying to the companies in Canada that are looking for candidates like you. Canada has plenty of jobs, the inside story is not many people want to go to Canada because it is really cold, especially the Northern part, I have heard stories where Exel Logistics had a major operation in a place called Edmonton Alberta Canada, there is a major coal plant/operation there, but it was very difficult to hire people because nobody wanted to work there, hey if I am looking for an opportunity like yourself I would gladly take it and survive there for 2 to 3 years until I get a solid international experience and then figure out my next steps

4 - The most important thing is demonstrate your passion and expertise for the position you are aspiring to get into - What I am finding is blogging is such a powerful tool to show case your passion and expertise - I wish I had started doing that long ago, better late than never

I think if you do all this, you can find a job in Canada, it may not be easy and it may not happen right away, but it is indeed possible, it is all about setting a goal and hammering at it, not giving up. It might not happen immediately but will happen if you believe in yourself and keep going at it relentlessly. When you do that life gets exciting as well.
